The additional kit for outdoor sound measurement PCE-4xx-EKIT can be combined with the sound analyzers PCE-428, 430, or PCE-432. This kit makes it possible to measure outdoor noise with a sound level meter for a long period. The environmental noise monitoring system consists of a waterproof Peli carrying case with rollers. A charger and two additional batteries allow the sound screen to operate for up to 10 days. During outdoor sound measurement, the case can remain closed. Due to the external connections of the microphone and power supply, all electronic components are protected from water.

The construction of the external sound screen ensures its protection from rain and wind as it also has a wire mesh for the microphone. Additionally, a tripod is available with which the microphone can be placed outdoors. Also, the charger in the PCE-4xx-EKIT measuring kit is waterproof. Thus, the charger can also remain outdoors. This device is used for measuring road noise, aircraft and train noise, event noise, noise from construction sites, ports, factories with heavy machinery, race tracks, etc. Weather conditions do not matter, and hail, snow, rain, and similar do not pose a problem for the outdoor noise monitoring system. If the PCE-432 sound level meter is connected to this system, accurate sound level monitoring location is possible via the GPS receiver.
