A fixed chuck is a fixture that brings the convenience of a lathe to a milling machine table. Essentially, it is a classic chuck (usually 3-jaw) that is mounted on a sturdy, flat base (steel or cast iron), ready to be screwed directly into the T-slots of the table.

What it's for: While the vise is ideal for square pieces, the fixed chuck is the ultimate solution for round objects . It allows you to quickly and vertically secure:

  • Axles

  • Gaskets and rings

  • Gears

Why choose it:

  1. Ease & Speed: You don't have to fiddle with V-blocks and vises to center a cylinder. The chuck automatically grips and centers it (on 3-jaw).

  2. Low Profile: They are designed to be as close (to the plate) as possible, so as not to lose valuable usable height (on the Z axis) of the machine.

  3. Stability: Its base is designed to absorb the vibrations of the milling machine, offering rigid support.
