The PCE-EMD 5 thermometer measures the temperature and humidity of the room, which are simultaneously displayed on a screen with a digit size of 100 mm. It is possible to connect it with four external temperature and humidity sensor units (the package includes one unit). The temperature measurement range for its sensors is 0.0 … 50.0 °C and the humidity measurement range is 0.0 … 99.9% RH. The PCE-EMD 5 is powered by a 110 ... 220 V AC power supply. The sensor units connected to the thermometer-hygrometer are supplied with a voltage current of 2 or 24 V DC.
Once the sensors are connected, they are automatically recognized by the thermometer-hygrometer. The communication between the sensor units and the PCE-EMD 5 takes place via a 4 … 20 mA analog signal. If multiple sensors are connected, the average reading of all sensors is shown on the screen. Thus, the thermometer-hygrometer can be used, for example, in event halls, restaurants or in public buildings to monitor environmental conditions.
