The particle counter is a useful tool for measuring indoor air quality (IAQ) in cleanrooms and workplaces, as it measures the concentration of particles in the air. While it will not determine specifically what types of dust or particles are in the air, a particle counter will determine how many suspended particles of a certain size are in the environment. A conclusion is then drawn based on the known materials in the area and the corresponding airborne particle sizes of those materials.
