The roughness meter PCE-RT 1200 is a portable device for flexible use that determines surface roughness. The measured values are displayed clearly on the OLED screen. In addition, the PCE-RT 1200 has the ability to store up to 20 measurements. Thanks to the measurement software, the data can be transferred to a computer for further evaluation and processing via the USB cable. Via USB, the battery of the roughness meter can also be charged.
The roughness meter sensor has a cover, which protects it from external influences and can be easily screwed on. A calibration plate and a roughness standard are also part of the basic equipment and serve to check the correctness of the measurement results.
Below is the interpretation of the main results given by the PCE-RT1200 after the measurement:
Rz = average roughness depth
The average roughness Rz is the numerical average of the largest degrees of roughness of various adjacent individual parts measurement
Ra = number average roughness
Ra is the generally recognized and internationally applied roughness parameter. It is the arithmetic mean of the absolute values of the deviations of the profile from the reference line. The Ra value is always less than the Rz value determined on the same roughness profile.
