With an accuracy of <±2% and a measuring range of 15 ... 100,000 cP, the viscometer is a precise measuring device for determining the viscosity of a liquid sample. Viscosity is determined by the viscometer based on an applied mechanical resistance acting in the opposite direction to the rotational movement of a spindle. The viscometer can be operated at an adjustable speed between 6… 60 RPM.
Many fluids are exposed to thermal stress and therefore their viscosity changes, such as motor oils. This is exactly where the viscometer comes in. With the immersion temperature sensor, the temperature of a sample can be determined during measurement between 0 … 100 °C. The viscometer can be connected to a computer via the RS232 output in order to analyze the measurements. Optional software can then be used to generate a temperature and viscosity curve during a measurement.
The viscometer can be aligned by adjusting its feet so that the measurement axis is always perpendicular to the medium to be measured. To check alignment, the viscometer has a proper alignment indicator. At the same time, the height of the sample container can be adjusted with a maximum displacement of a total of 25 cm from the viscometer in order to position the shaft correctly.
