Air tools are divided into reciprocating and rotary. Reciprocating ones are used for lapping (optimal surface quality and high dimensional accuracy) and take ceramic superstone files and diamond files. Rotary ones are used for grinding and cutting and take carbide endmills (rotary burrs) or wheels.
