The PCE-AQD 50 meter is specially designed for long-term monitoring of environmental conditions, for example, in offices, classrooms, or lecture halls. The air quality meter features a carbon dioxide sensor up to 40,000 ppm, a temperature sensor with a measurement range between 0 ... 50 °C, an ambient humidity sensor with a measurement range between 0 ... 100% RH, and a barometer with a measurement range between 300 ... 2000 hPa. The measured values are displayed directly on the e-paper screen of the measuring device. Additionally, the screen shows a color indication depending on the carbon dioxide content of the air.
During measurement, the meter can automatically record and save measurements as .csv on the micro SD card. This means that measurement data can be directly imported into the company's database and displayed in tables with graphs thanks to the software.
The environmental meter has an alarm function. The user can set the alarm limits. If the limits are exceeded, a visual and acoustic alarm is activated and when the measurement is back within limits, it automatically deactivates.
Measurement values are displayed numerically on the 2.7" screen as well as graphically since there is the option to display measurements with a histogram. Depending on the setting, the battery life is about 10 months before charging is needed. Besides power supply via the built-in battery, the device can also operate via the micro USB charging cable.
