The PCE-950 is a handheld hardness tester for metals using the Leeb rebound method. A small carbide ball strikes the test surface; the ratio of rebound to impact velocity gives the hardness. It covers 10 metals: cast steel, hammered steel, cold-rolled steel, stainless steel, cast iron, ductile iron, aluminium alloy, brass, bronze and forged copper alloy. Readings are shown in HL, HRC, HRB, HRA, HB, HV and HS.
The D-type impact device is built in, so no sensor cable is needed. The internal memory holds 600 readings, and the supplied USB cable and PC software transfer results to a computer. Pocket-sized, for incoming and outgoing inspection of metal parts in the field or on the production floor.
