Colorimeters are special photometers that measure color accurately. Different colors are classified based on color space systems. One of the color space systems used is CIELab (CIE L*a*b*). The CIELab system is a color space established by the International Commission on Illumination (CIE) in the year 1976. In CIELab, color differences are determined numerically using a device-independent 3D color model. The model is objective and designed to reproduce what the human eye sees.
