The PCE-CSM 7 is a portable spectrophotometer for colour measurement. It runs an automatic white and black calibration at switch-on and ships manufacturer-calibrated; an ISO calibration certificate is available as an optional accessory. It suits production quality control and product research and development, covering colour difference, chromaticity index, colour sample database management and cumulative colour difference analysis. A camera with illumination locates small samples.

Selectable colour spaces include CIEL*a*b*C*h*, CIEL*a*b*, CIEXYZ, CIERGB, CIEL*u*v*, CIEL*C*h, plus yellowness, whiteness and colour fastness. Two apertures (Ø 4 mm and Ø 8 mm) suit different applications. Readings are shown with their deviations, and any reading can be saved as a reference standard for comparison. Memory holds 100 standards and 20,000 samples. Data transfers to a PC via USB for the included software.
