The PCE-DRP 1 is a handheld digital refractometer for coffee and similar liquids. It measures sugar content from 0 ... 50 % Brix, coffee p1 from 0 ... 25 and refractive index from 1.3330 ... 1.4200 nD. Automatic temperature compensation (ATC) works from +10 ... +40 °C / +50 ... +104 °F, and the large LCD shows both the measured value and the temperature.

Baristas, brewers, coffee shops, stores and restaurants use it to check total dissolved solids (TDS) and sugars and to calculate the extraction yield. The readings show whether the recipe or the coffee-to-water ratio needs adjusting. The IP65 ABS housing keeps out water and dust.
