Burnishing

Burnishing (polishing/smoothing with pressure) is a finishing process in which a hard, smooth tool is rubbed over the surface of the workpiece without removing material. Instead, it causes plastic deformation of the surface, smoothing out irregularities and creating a shiny, glossy texture. This process improves wear and fatigue resistance and is often used in metalworking for high-quality surface finishing.
