The PCE-DRS 1 is a handheld digital refractometer for sodium chloride (NaCl) in liquids. It measures salinity or salt content (%, ‰), specific gravity (SG), refractive index (nD) and temperature. Automatic temperature compensation (ATC) covers +10 ... +40 °C / +50 ... +104 °F. The large LCD shows the measured value and the temperature, and the ABS housing is rated IP65 against water and dust.

Typical uses are seawater, aquariums and swimming pools, food production (soups, brines, marinated vegetables, pickles, sauces, cheeses, bacon) and salinity monitoring in seas, lakes and soil.
