The PCE-RVI 10 is a rotational viscometer for liquids, measuring 10 ... 2,000,000 cP (mPa·s) with ±1.0 % accuracy. A rotating spindle meets the resistance of the liquid; the resulting torque is converted into a viscosity value. The immersion resistance temperature sensor covers 0 ... 100 °C (0 ... 212 °F).
It is used in oil quality control, where viscosity changes with temperature. The timer function lets the meter run unattended and send data to a PC via RS232; the software shows temperature and viscosity curves in graphs and tables. A printer can be connected directly. Height-adjustable feet and a built-in bubble level keep the spindle vertical, and the head adjusts by approx. 25 cm.
