The PCE-T 240 is a handheld tachometer that measures rotational speed by contact, optically and with a strobe, and also measures temperature. The contact range is 0.5 ... 99,999 RPM. Two rubber measuring tips (inner and outer cone) and a measuring wheel are supplied, so surface speed in m/min can also be read. For optical measurement, a 1 x 1 cm piece of reflective tape is stuck to the test object.

With the strobe, the flash frequency can be doubled or halved, and the speed is read as soon as the test object appears to stand still. Temperature is measured with any type K thermocouple or a PT1000 sensor. Typical uses are conveyor belt speed and the speed of ventilation systems. An ISO calibration certificate is available as an option.

Tachometers - Speedometers

The tachometers (or speedometers) are measuring instruments that determine the rotational speed of a shaft or a disc, usually in revolutions per minute (RPM). They are critical tools for ensuring the correct operation of engines and machinery, allowing technicians to identify deviations from the nominal operating specifications.

  • Types: They are classified into optical (Laser) for non-contact measurements from a distance and contact, which use wheels or cones for direct measurement.
  • Functions: Many modern models are combined (Dual), offering the ability to measure linear speed as well (e.g. m/min) on conveyor belts.
