The PCE-VA 11 is a vane anemometer used for measuring air velocity, air flow, air temperature, and temperature using infrared (IR). This multifunctional portable handheld anemometer offers fast response time, allowing real-time measurement. Additionally, the vane features threading for mounting in a fixed position.
The easy-to-read LCD display of the anemometer has a backlight, allowing use in low-light areas. The large display shows air velocity measurements in m/s, km/h, t/min, knots, or mph. Airflow measurements are displayed in CFM or CMM, while air temperature and infrared (IR) temperature measurements are shown in °C or °F. An integrated laser light serves as an aiming point for targeted infrared temperature measurement. (Note that ambient air temperature measurement is automatically disabled when using the laser monitoring tool for infrared temperature measurement.) Therefore, the vane anemometer has many practical applications, including, for example, testing, adjusting, and balancing heating and ventilation for HVAC systems and exhaust fans. Because the vane is connected to the anemometer with a 1.2 m (3.93 ft) cable, measurements can be taken inside inaccessible ducts or HVAC system components, and all data can be collected and displayed on the meter's screen or on a computer in real time.
The vane anemometer can also be connected to a wind vane to indicate wind direction. The rotation speed depends entirely on the wind masses and can be very variable. This feature is also extremely useful as it allows detection of even the slightest deviations from expected operating rules, for example, in ventilation systems.
