View full detailsType-K thermocouple thermometers are portable instruments that measure temperature from the thermocouple’s millivolt signal (NiCr–NiAl), delivering fast response and dependable readings across a wide thermal range. They are suited to surface, penetration and air/flue-gas measurements.
Available as single- or dual-channel units, with interchangeable K probes (needle, surface, wire), plus MIN/MAX, HOLD, alarms, logging and °C/°F selection. Options from Insize & PCE Instruments.
Used in HVAC, maintenance, industrial processes and QC; choose based on range, accuracy and probe type.
Contact Thermometers
The contact thermometers are precision instruments that measure temperature through direct physical contact of a sensor (probe) with the object under test. Unlike infrared thermometers, contact thermometers provide the highest possible accuracy, as they eliminate errors due to surface reflectivity.
- Sensor Technology: They typically use thermocouples (Thermocouples type K, J, T) for a wide temperature range or Pt100 (RTD) sensors for laboratory-accuracy measurements.
- Types of Sensors (Probes):Penetration: With a sharp tip for food, semi-fluid materials, or soil.Surface: With a flat head for measurement on plates, molds, or electronic components.Immersion: For liquids and chemical solutions.Air: For fast temperature measurement in air-conditioning systems.
- Advantages: High repeatability, ability to measure inside a body (not only on the surface), and excellent durability in industrial environments.
