The PCE-DRW 2 is a handheld digital refractometer for wine and similar liquids. It measures sugar content in Brix, alcohol content (% vol ap), °Oechsle (°Oe) and KMW (babo), plus sample temperature. Ranges are 0 ... 45 % Brix, 0 ... 22 % vol ap, 3 ... 150 °Oe and 0 ... 25 KMW, with automatic temperature compensation (ATC) from +10 ... +40 °C / +50 ... +104 °F.

A sample of 4 to 5 drops gives a reading in about 1 second, shown on a large LCD together with the temperature. The IP65 waterproof housing suits use at the winery, in the field and in the vineyard, including checks on grape ripeness.
