The PCE-125/2 is a Ford flow cup meter. It determines viscosity from the time the liquid takes to flow out through the nozzle. Only low-viscosity liquids can be measured; viscous pastes are not suitable. The cup is machine-made anodised aluminium with an exchangeable stainless steel nozzle and meets ASTM D1200, D333 and D365.

To measure, close the nozzle, fill the cup to the top and level off the excess with the glass plate. Open the nozzle, pull the plate away horizontally and start the stopwatch. Stop the time when the outflowing stream first breaks. Clean cup and nozzle after every measurement, as residues falsify results.
