The PCE-125/5 is a Ford flow cup used to determine the viscosity of liquids. Flow time is timed from opening the nozzle until the outflowing stream first breaks. It is suitable for low-viscosity liquids only; viscous pastes and other high-viscosity substances cannot be measured.
The cup is machine-made from anodized aluminium and takes an exchangeable stainless steel nozzle. An overflow channel stops liquid running off the sides and falsifying the reading, and the glass plate strikes off excess material. Clean the cup and nozzle thoroughly after each measurement, as residues and deep scratches change the cup volume and distort results.
