The PCE-AS1 is a portable air sampler for assessing microbiological contamination and monitoring hygiene. It draws in 100 l/min of air and works to ISO 14698-1. Typical uses: hospitals, clean rooms and the production of food and beverages, cosmetics and pharmaceuticals.
Sampling follows the aerosol impaction (Andersen) principle. Air is pulled through 300 micropores and the laminar flow is directed onto an agar petri dish. After the cycle, the dish is removed and incubated; bacterial and fungal counts are then assessed to USP 797 and CAG-009. Sterilise the collecting head in an autoclave at 121 °C for 30 minutes, or wipe it with 75% alcohol, as with the petri dish.
