The PCE-CSM 6 is a high-accuracy colour meter for quality control. It measures colour in the CIE L*a*b* and CIE L*a*b*C*h colour spaces, using a Ø 8 mm measuring aperture, 8°/d geometry and a D65 light source.

A reading can be stored as a reference value, and further readings recorded as samples and compared with it. Along with the colour space coordinates, the display shows the deviation between the readings. The meter holds up to 100 reference values and 20,000 samples. Data is transferred to a PC via the USB interface; the PC software is supplied.

The colorimeters are specialized measuring instruments that determine the absorption of specific wavelengths of light by a solution.
