PCE-DRA 1 is a handheld digital refractometer for ethylene glycol- and propylene glycol-based coolants. Each measurement gives either the antifreeze concentration in % by volume or the freezing point, plus the sample temperature. Automatic temperature compensation covers +10 ... +40 °C / +50 ... +104 °F.

Put 4 to 5 drops in the stainless steel tray, close the lid and read the LCD after about 1 s. Select the curve first: S01/S02 for ethylene glycol concentration and freezing point, S03/S04 for propylene glycol. Run two measurements for both values. Used in industry and in the automotive sector. Not for Organic Acid Technology (OAT) or orange antifreeze.
