The PCE-N20I is a panel-mounted temperature indicator for 4...20 mA and 0...20 mA signals. Readings appear on a large 5-digit LED display, which shows values in three different colours depending on the actual value.

Two open collector outputs switch when a threshold is exceeded, so external alarm systems can be connected. Thresholds and the other settings are configured with the free LPCon software and the optional PCE-PD 14 programming adapter. An integrated 24 V supply powers sensors and transducers directly. The indicator is available with different measuring units, inputs and power supplies.

Infrared Thermometers

The infrared thermometers, also known as laser thermometers, allow measuring the temperature of a surface from a distance, without physical contact. They operate by detecting the infrared radiation emitted by any object and converting it into a digital temperature reading in fractions of a second.

  • Optical Ratio (D:S): A critical feature is the distance-to-spot ratio (e.g. 12:1). This means that at a distance of 12 centimeters, the instrument measures a circular area with a diameter of 1 centimeter.
  • Emissivity Coefficient (Emissivity): Accuracy depends on the material’s ability to emit energy. Advanced models allow adjustment of the coefficient $\epsilon$ for correct measurements on metals, plastics, or organic materials.
  • Applications:Industry: Checking hot spots in electrical panels, motors, and bearings.Food: Temperature monitoring in refrigerators or production lines without risk of contamination.HVAC: Detecting heat loss in piping and insulation.
