The PCE-PMI 3 is a compact moisture meter for building materials such as concrete and wood. Scales for each material are stored in the meter. You select the scale and place the meter on the surface to be tested. After a few seconds, the result appears as a number and as a graph.
For screed, the meter can convert the reading into a CM% value (calcium carbide method), which gives a guideline value. Each scale has its own alarm limit, and the meter sounds an audible alarm when the limit is exceeded. To save the batteries, it switches off after 5 minutes without use.
