The PCE-RAM 8 is a handheld radiation meter for gamma, beta and X-rays. It determines the radiation dose and can also measure cumulative radiation over a defined period. Readings are shown on the LCD in microsieverts per hour (µSv/h) and microroentgen per hour (µR/h), and the maximum value is held.

An adjustable acoustic alarm warns when preset radiation limits are exceeded. The meter uses a Geiger-Müller counter tube, covers 0.01 ... 9999 µSv/h and works over an energy range of 48 ... 1500 keV. Typical uses range from radiology to disaster control.
