The PCE-RCM 10 is a portable handheld particle counter that measures PM 2.5 and PM 10 concentrations in the air. It also measures air temperature and relative humidity (RH), which makes it suitable for indoor air quality (IAQ) assessments. All readings are shown at the same time on the 2.4" full-colour LCD. PM values appear largest and are colour-coded green, yellow, gold, orange, pink and red, so dangerous concentration levels are easy to spot.

HVAC technicians use the meter for system performance and filtration audits. Industrial hygienists and workplace safety professionals use it to assess occupational risks from hazardous and combustible dust.

Dust Meters

Dust meters (or particle counters) are air quality monitoring instruments that detect the concentration of suspended particles (Particulate Matter - PM). Their operation is usually based on laser scattering (laser scattering) technology, where a beam of light strikes the particles and the sensor calculates their size and quantity.

  • Particle Categories:PM2.5: Fine particles (up to 2.5 μm) that penetrate deep into the lungs and the bloodstream.PM10: Particles (up to 10 μm) such as dust, pollen, and mold.
  • Applications:Industry: Dust control in carpentry workshops, cement plants, and mines to protect workers.Cleanrooms (Cleanrooms): Certification of pharmaceutical or electronics production areas.Environment: Monitoring of air pollution and "smog" in cities.
  • Features: They include a data recording function (data logging), audible limit-exceedance alerts, and often also measure temperature and humidity in parallel.
