The PCE-RVI 1 is an analog viscometer used in industrial and research applications to measure the viscosity of liquids such as paints, varnishes, inks, pastes, adhesives, plastics, greases and liquid food products. Under the same conditions, test results from an analog viscometer are just as accurate and reproducible as those from a digital viscometer. Thus, the PCE-RVI 1 analog viscometer offers an affordable solution for viscosity measurement during product and material testing, development, production and quality control.

Basic function
Prepare the liquid to be measured and place it in a glass beaker or rectangular container not less than 70 mm in diameter and not less than 130 mm in height. Adjust the lift screw and place the shaft in the liquid until the level mark on the shaft reaches the surface of the liquid. Connect the power supply, turn on the viscometer, screw the speed knob, select the speed and loosen the pointer lever. When selecting a rotation speed of 6 or 12 rpm, the final measurement value can be read when the indicator becomes stable. When selecting 30 or 60 rpm, press the pointer joystick after it stabilizes, turn off the power supply, and then read the final measurement value.
