The PCE-MFM 2400+ is a handheld gaussmeter for static magnetic fields. An axial Hall sensor on a 2 m cable measures 0 ... 2,400 mT (0 ... 24,000 G) to ±1% of reading. The meter switches automatically between the 0 ... 200 mT and 200 ... 2400 mT ranges and shows the active range on the backlit LCD.

Typical uses: permanent magnets and relays, magnetic separators and filters in plant and mechanical engineering, quality control at magnet manufacturers, plus laboratory, teaching and research. HOLD stores the maximum positive and negative reading, and the meter can show the direction of the field lines. It switches off after 5 minutes to save the 9 V battery.
