Ultrasonic thickness gauge accessories are the parts and consumables that keep thickness readings reliable on metals, plastics, fiberglass and composites without damaging the part — in corrosion surveys, pipework, tanks, plate and castings.

This collection includes replacement ultrasonic probes (transducers) from Insize for the ISU-200D, ISU-250C, ISU-300D and ISU-810D gauges; dual-element probes from 2 to 7.5 MHz for corroded and curved surfaces; probes for thin material and small pipes (from 0.7 mm), for cast iron and very thick parts (up to 2000 mm), for fiberglass, and for high temperatures (up to 310°C); plus a tapered delay block. Completing the range are couplant gels from Insize and PCE Instruments — 25 to 250 ml, including high-temperature versions rated up to 350°C — and step blocks for checking and calibrating the gauge.

Choosing a probe

  • Compatibility — each probe is made for a specific gauge: ISU-200D-… codes fit the ISU-200D, ISU-810D-… codes fit the ISU-810D, the ISU-T08 fits the ISU-250C and the ISU-T07 fits the ISU-300D. Compatibility is listed on every product page.
  • Frequency — 7.5 MHz for thin material and small pipes, 5 MHz for general use, 2 MHz or lower for cast iron, castings, fiberglass and thick sections.
  • Dual or single element — dual-element probes are the first choice for corroded, rough and curved surfaces; single-element probes suit smooth surfaces and precision work.
  • Temperature — hot surfaces need a high-temperature probe and a high-temperature couplant; standard gel is rated to about 80°C.
  • Minimum pipe size — for small-diameter pipe choose a probe with a small face (e.g. Ø10 × 1.0 mm for the ISU-T04).

FAQ

Which probe fits my gauge? Check your gauge model (e.g. ISU-200D, ISU-810D) and pick a probe that lists the same model under Compatibility. If in doubt, send us your gauge's model code.

Why do I need couplant gel? Ultrasound doesn't travel through air; couplant fills the gap between the probe and the surface so the reading is stable. On hot surfaces standard gel evaporates, so use a high-temperature couplant.

When should a probe be replaced? When its contact face is worn, or when the gauge no longer reads correctly on a step block of known thickness. Step blocks let you check this regularly.
