Ultrasonic thickness measurement is a non-destructive testing method that measures wall thickness from one side of the part only — on pipes, tanks, plates, ship hulls and pressure vessels. It is used in maintenance, corrosion monitoring and quality control, with no cutting or drilling.

To choose, check the measuring range and resolution, the material (steel, cast iron, plastics, fiberglass), whether the surface is painted or corroded, the part temperature and the surface curvature. For accessories, make sure the probe is compatible with your gauge model.
