The PCE-RCM 10 is a portable particle counter used to monitor particle (PM) concentrations in the air and assess indoor air quality (IAQ). The particle counter also measures air temperature and relative humidity (RH) and is powered either by the built-in rechargeable battery or by alternating current via the USB cable, through which the battery is also recharged. The particle counter takes measurements even while the battery is charging, allowing continuous IAQ monitoring. The built-in data logger has an adjustable sampling time of 30 seconds, 1 minute, 2 minutes, or 5 minutes, while the internal memory stores up to 5000 measurements with date and time stamping.

The meter displays all measurements simultaneously on the device's 2" color LCD screen. Temperature measurement can be shown in either Celsius or Fahrenheit. Maximum PM values are visually represented with a color gradient scale, where green corresponds to a safe particle concentration and purple to a dangerous concentration for humans.  

Since the PCE-RCM 10 particle counter monitors PM 2.5 and PM 10 particles, the device has many practical applications in health and safety sectors. HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning) technicians use PM 2.5 and PM 10 particle counters for HVAC system performance and filtration checks. Additionally, safety professionals in industrial workplace environments rely on PM 2.5 and PM 10 particle counters when assessing health and safety risks related to hazardous and flammable dust.
