  • One-hand operation
  • MIN, MAX and mean display
  • Battery indicator
  • Selectable units
  • Automatic shutdown
  • For ferrous and non-ferrous metals

The PCE-CT 25FN is a paint thickness gauge for fast, precise measurement of coating thickness on metals. Unlike many other gauges, it does not require you to choose between ferrous (Fe) and non-ferrous (NFe) substrates. Its measuring range is 1500 µm, with an accuracy of ± (3% + 1 µm).

The small, compact housing allows one-hand operation. Readings are shown in µm, mm or mils. From a series of measurements, the gauge shows the minimum, maximum and mean value. It is also suitable for continuous measurements. It has a battery indicator and switches off automatically.

Coating Thickness Gauges

The coating thickness gauges (coating thickness gauges) are non-destructive testing instruments that measure the thickness of layers such as paint, varnish, or galvanizing on metal surfaces. Their operation is based on the principles of magnetic induction (for ferrous substrates) and eddy currents (eddy currents) for non-ferrous metals such as aluminum.

  • Applications: Essential in the automotive industry for repaint inspection, in shipyards, anodizing, and corrosion protection industries.
  • Features: They have an integrated or external sensor (probe), automatic substrate recognition (F/NF) and high accuracy at the micrometer ($\mu m$) level.
  • Advantages: They allow verification of quality specifications without causing any damage to the product’s final surface.
