The PCE-CSM 3 is a colour meter for quality control, with 8°/d measuring geometry and an 8 mm measuring aperture. It measures in the CIE L*a*b*C*h and CIE L*a*b* colour spaces. One reading can be saved as a reference value, and further readings stored as samples and compared against it.

Besides the individual colour space coordinates, the display also shows the deviation between the readings. The meter stores up to 100 reference values and up to 20,000 samples. Measured data transfers to a PC via the USB interface, and the PC software is included.
