The PCE-VOC 1 is a portable gas concentration meter for volatile organic compounds (VOC) and formaldehyde (HCHO) and a leak detector for indoor air quality (IAQ) monitoring applications. This user-friendly meter is ideal for measuring total volatile organic compound (TVOC) and formaldehyde (HCHO) levels in homes, offices, factories, laboratories, hotels, schools, and other indoor environments. The meter's long-lasting rechargeable battery (LiPo) and the included 9V power adapter (charger) ensure uninterrupted indoor air quality (IAQ) monitoring.
Featuring a compact and lightweight design, the meter allows selection of measurement units in parts per million (ppm) or milligrams per cubic meter (mg/m³). In addition to activating an audible alarm, the device's large, easy-to-read LCD screen turns red when a critical VOC or HCHO concentration level is detected and measured.
How do VOCs enter the air?
Volatile organic compounds can be transferred into the air through evaporation or emission. Evaporation sources include household cleaning products, construction and building materials, as well as indoor furniture and flooring. Emission sources include vehicle exhaust gases, cigarette smoke, and industrial pollution. Even food preparation and human metabolism can be sources of airborne VOCs.
