The PCE-1000N is a portable digital Barcol hardness tester. It measures pure, soft and thick aluminium alloys, as well as aluminium sheet, strip, rod, castings and forgings. It also tests fibre-reinforced (FRP) and glass-reinforced (GRP) plastics, hard plastics and soft metals such as copper and lead. Readings appear directly on a backlit LCD in Barcol (HBA), Brinell (HB), Vickers (HV), Webster (HW) and Rockwell (HRB / HRE / HRF / HRH) units. It runs on batteries and works one-handed.
The tester meets ASTM E140-97 (hardness conversion tables for metals), ASTM D2583-75 (Barcol indentation hardness of plastics) and ASTM B648-78 (Barcol indentation hardness of aluminium alloys).
