The bore gauge is used for hole measurement. There are various types: small "fan" sets, telescopic Tuff type in various lengths for access to large depths, conical and wedge type. Telescopic bore gauges are usually used in combination with micrometers. Other instruments specifically for hole measurement are cylinder gauges, internal micrometers, and 3-contact micrometers.
