The PCE-RVI 10 is a rotary viscometer for liquids. It measures 10 to 2,000,000 cP (mPa·s) with ±1.0% accuracy. A spindle turns in the sample, and the device converts the resulting torque into a viscosity value. An immersion resistance temperature sensor reads the sample temperature from 0 to 100 °C (up to 212 °F).
A typical use is quality control of oils, whose viscosity changes with temperature. A timer runs tests unattended for a set period. Meanwhile, data goes to a PC via RS232, where software shows viscosity and temperature profiles as graphs and tables. An optional printer connects directly. Adjustable feet, a bubble level and approx. 25 cm height adjustment on the laboratory stand keep the spindle vertical.
