Magnetic Bases

magnetic base is the necessary accessory for the dial indicator. Its main function is to provide an absolutely stable support point, so that the indicator can accurately record the micrometric deviations of a surface without the measurement being affected by vibrations or instability.

  • The Magnetic Pole: The base has a strong permanent magnet inside it. Via a rotary switch (ON/OFF), the user can align or offset the magnetic fields, allowing easy placement or removal of the base from ferrous surfaces.
  • Arm Types:Articulated (Hydraulic/Mechanical): They have a central handle that tightens all joints simultaneously. They offer maximum flexibility for positioning the indicator at any angle.Rigid with Rods: They consist of two vertical rods and clamps. They are more robust and are preferred in applications where maximum possible rigidity is required.
  • "V"-shaped base: The bottom part of the base is usually formed in a V shape, allowing stable support not only on flat surfaces, but also on cylindrical shafts or pipes.
  • Fine Adjustment: Quality bases feature a fine adjustment screw at the base of the arm or at the indicator mount, allowing the user to zero the indicator with exceptional accuracy without moving the entire arm.
