The PCE-LDC 8 gas leak detector finds leaks on compressed air lines with an ultrasonic sensor. It also works on coolant and gas lines. The sensor operates at 40 kHz, the mid-frequency of the 20 ... 80 kHz ultrasound that leaks on pressure lines emit. A high-pass filter removes all noise below 40 kHz.
Leaks are heard through headphones, and the display shows the intensity of the ultrasound signal. A laser pointer helps you aim at pipes and pressure vessels. A lance can be fitted for pinpoint detection. Depending on line pressure, leaks can be found from up to 18 m (59 ft). The rechargeable battery lasts up to 6 hours. Supplied in a robust carrying case.
