The PCE-S 42 is designed to listen to individual machine components such as bearings and motors, enabling maintenance and repair work to be carried out before a major breakdown occurs. The PCE-S 42 comes with headphones, the shape of which adapts to the user's head and is thus suitable for use in noisy environments. The lining of the headphones has the effect of suppressing ambient noises and at the same time they offer comfort in use.
The meter is most often used to amplify the impact and friction noises of components to prevent damage.
