The Thread Micrometer is a specialized measuring tool used for the precise measurement of the pitch diameter of threads. The pitch diameter is the theoretical diameter located between the crest and the root of the threads, where the flanks of opposite threads touch. To measure the pitch diameter, the micrometer uses pins shaped to fit the thread profile, allowing accurate measurement of the distance between the threads.
Measuring pins are not included with this product. They are sold separately.
