Cup anemometer PCE-A 420
The wind direction will not affect the measurement
Undoubtedly, the main advantage of this portable anemometer is that it does not need to be held exactly in the wind direction. An airflow meter with impellers usually needs to be held exactly in the direction of the airflow to get accurate measurements. However, the system of this cup anemometer is so sensitive that it responds to the slightest air currents. To perform a correct measurement: First turn on the meter, then hold the meter vertically so the cups can rotate until the wind speed appears (see images).
As mentioned earlier, different measurement units can be selected: m/s, km/h, knots, ft/min, and mph. To change the measurement units on the anemometer, press the Data Hold button until the desired unit appears, then press the button. You can save the unit in the anemometer's memory so it appears every time the device is turned on. If the Hold or REC messages appear on the display, you cannot change the measurement units. Additionally, you can "hold" a value on the anemometer by pressing the Hold button during measurement. To deactivate this function, press the Hold button again.
