Cup anemometer PCE-A 420
Its wind direction will not affect the measurement
Without a doubt, the main advantage of this portable anemometer is that it does not have to be held directly in the direction of the wind. The impeller airflow meter usually needs to be held exactly in the direction of the airflow to get accurate readings. However, the system of this cup anemometer is so sensitive that it responds to the smallest air currents. To take a correct measurement : First turn on the meter, then hold the meter vertically so that the cups can rotate until the wind speed is displayed (See pictures).
As mentioned before, different measurement units can be selected: m/s, km/h, knots, ft/min and mph. To change the units of measurement on the anemometer you must press the Data Hold key until the desired unit is displayed and then press the key. You can store the unit in the anemometer's memory to be displayed every time the instrument is powered up. If the Hold or REC messages appear on the screen, you cannot change the units of measurement. In addition, you can set a value on the anemometer by pressing the Hold key during the measurement. To deactivate this function, press the Hold key again.
