The PCE-AS1 is a portable air sampler for assessing microbiological contamination and monitoring hygiene. It samples airborne microbes, bacteria, mould, fungi and viruses at 100 lpm. It is built for hospitals, clean rooms, and food and beverage, cosmetics and pharmaceutical production. It meets current requirements for airborne microbial analysis. An ISO calibration lab certificate is available as an option.
It works on the aerosol impaction (Andersen) principle. Air drawn in at the top passes through 300 micropores. The laminar flow hits the surface of an agar petri dish. After sampling, you remove and incubate the dish, then assess bacterial and fungal counts to USP 797 and CAG-009 guidance. Sterilise the collecting head in an autoclave at 121 °C for 30 minutes, or wipe it with a cloth soaked in 75% alcohol. Sterilise the petri dish with 75% alcohol.
