The PCE-RCM 10 is a portable handheld particle counter that monitors particulate matter (PM 2.5 and PM 10) concentrations in the air. It also measures air temperature and relative humidity for indoor air quality (IAQ) assessments. All readings appear together on a 2.4" full-colour LCD. PM values are shown largest and colour-coded green, yellow, gold, orange, pink and red, so dangerous levels are easy to spot and act on.

It runs on the built-in rechargeable battery for up to 5 hours, or indefinitely from a USB power source. The USB port also charges the battery. HVAC technicians use it for system performance and filtration audits. Industrial hygienists and safety staff use it to assess risks from hazardous and combustible dust.

Dust Meters

Dust meters (or particle counters) are air quality monitoring instruments that detect the concentration of suspended particles (Particulate Matter - PM). Their operation is usually based on laser scattering (laser scattering) technology, where a beam of light strikes the particles and the sensor calculates their size and quantity.

  • Particle Categories:PM2.5: Fine particles (up to 2.5 μm) that penetrate deep into the lungs and the bloodstream.PM10: Particles (up to 10 μm) such as dust, pollen, and mold.
  • Applications:Industry: Dust control in carpentry workshops, cement plants, and mines to protect workers.Cleanrooms (Cleanrooms): Certification of pharmaceutical or electronics production areas.Environment: Monitoring of air pollution and "smog" in cities.
  • Features: They include a data recording function (data logging), audible limit-exceedance alerts, and often also measure temperature and humidity in parallel.
