The infrared thermometer PCD-889N is suitable for private and industrial use due to its price-performance ratio. The PCD-889N is a non-contact measuring device with dual dot laser that makes it easy to measure temperature from a distance. The spot size ratio allows the user to make even the most remote measurements with an adjustable emissivity coefficient. 

The temperature range is between -50 ... 1000 °C / -58 ... 1832 °F. This covers a wide temperature range and this is why the infrared thermometer is so versatile. It can be used in many tasks in industry, crafts, and trade.

Infrared Thermometers

The infrared thermometers, also known as laser thermometers, allow measuring the temperature of a surface from a distance, without physical contact. They operate by detecting the infrared radiation emitted by any object and converting it into a digital temperature reading in fractions of a second.

  • Optical Ratio (D:S): A critical feature is the distance-to-spot ratio (e.g. 12:1). This means that at a distance of 12 centimeters, the instrument measures a circular area with a diameter of 1 centimeter.
  • Emissivity Coefficient (Emissivity): Accuracy depends on the material’s ability to emit energy. Advanced models allow adjustment of the coefficient $\epsilon$ for correct measurements on metals, plastics, or organic materials.
  • Applications:Industry: Checking hot spots in electrical panels, motors, and bearings.Food: Temperature monitoring in refrigerators or production lines without risk of contamination.HVAC: Detecting heat loss in piping and insulation.
