Description

Temperature Indicator PCE-N20I / 2 open collector outputs / setup via software / for 4...20 mA, 0...20 mA signals / IP 65 protected front / power supply system for sensors and transducers

The temperature indicator is used for processing 4...20 mA and 0...20 mA signals. Many measuring transducers and sensors use this type of output, which makes the temperature indicator suitable in a wide application area. The measurement results are shown on the large 5-digit LED display of the temperature indicator. Depending on the actual values, the results can be shown in three different colours, which makes it easier to evaluate them. The temperature indicator can also output signals via its two open collector outputs when a threshold value is exceeded.

This allows the usage of external alarm systems in combination with the temperature indicator. The threshold values and other configuration settings can be set by using the free software LPCon and the optional PCE-PD 14 programming adapter. An integrated power supply system of 24 V allows the direct connection of sensors and transducers to the temperature indicator. The temperature indicator is available with different measuring units, inputs, and power supplies. You can select the particular parameters further below.

Infrared Thermometers

The infrared thermometers, also known as laser thermometers, allow measuring the temperature of a surface from a distance, without physical contact. They operate by detecting the infrared radiation emitted by any object and converting it into a digital temperature reading in fractions of a second.

  • Optical Ratio (D:S): A critical feature is the distance-to-spot ratio (e.g. 12:1). This means that at a distance of 12 centimeters, the instrument measures a circular area with a diameter of 1 centimeter.
  • Emissivity Coefficient (Emissivity): Accuracy depends on the material’s ability to emit energy. Advanced models allow adjustment of the coefficient $\epsilon$ for correct measurements on metals, plastics, or organic materials.
  • Applications:Industry: Checking hot spots in electrical panels, motors, and bearings.Food: Temperature monitoring in refrigerators or production lines without risk of contamination.HVAC: Detecting heat loss in piping and insulation.
