The PCE-428-EKIT sound level meter provides highly accurate detailed measurements with A, B, C and Z frequency weighting as well as the four sound measurement speeds Fast, Slow, Pulse and Peak.
In addition, the meter can save measurements to 3 different user profiles. Here the user can decide which parameters the sound level meter should record in each profile. For example, you can choose between L aeq , L cPeak , L aFmax , L aFMin and so on.
A parameter that is innovative for the PCE-428-EKIT is the Peak function that ensures the recording of the maximum sound pressure level during a long-term measurement. A 24bit AD converter helps reduce inherent noise to a very low level. The signal sampling rate of 48 kHz enables high measurement accuracy.
PCE-4xx-EKIT
An additional PCE-4xx-EKIT external sound measurement kit can be combined with the PCE-428, 430 or PCE-432 sound meters. This kit makes it possible to measure external noise with a sound meter over a long period of time. The environmental noise monitoring system consists of a waterproof Peli carrying case with rollers. A charger and two additional lead gel batteries are fitted in this case, which allow the sound display to operate for up to 10 days. During external sound measurement, the case can remain closed. Due to the external connections for the microphone and power supply, all electronic components are protected from water.
The insulation of the screen provides protection from wind and rain, and the wind shield of the microphone insulates the measurement from the effect of wind. The PCE-4xx-EKIT kit charger is waterproof and can be left outdoors. A tripod is also available with which the microphone can be placed outdoors.
The PCE-4xx–EKIT can be used to measure noise in critical areas such as road surfaces in residential areas, airports, train stations as well as to measure sound events.
