The PCE-DSX 10 is a digital tachometer that uses the stroboscope effect to analyse fast movements, vibrations and periodic processes from 60 to 999999 rpm. Nine LEDs flash at up to 1500 lx in sync with the movement, until the object appears to stand still. Focus on specific phases of the motion to detect defects or irregularities in rotating or oscillating parts.

Flash frequency is shown in FPM and Hz and set with a rotary dial in steps of +1, +10 and +100 FPM, or doubled/halved by button. Memory holds 5 presets. Phase shift -360° to +360°, LED brightness 10 to 100 %. The rechargeable battery runs approx. 8 hours.

Stroboscopes

Stroboscopes stroboscopes are measuring and inspection instruments that use intense, periodic flashes of light to make rapidly moving objects appear stationary or in slow motion. They are based on the phenomenon of persistence of vision, allowing the inspection of machinery in operation without interrupting the production process.

  • Functions: They allow measurement of revolutions per minute (RPM) and vibration frequency (Hz) without physical contact.
  • Applications: Ideal for checking belts, gears, fan blades, and motion analysis on packaging or printing lines.
  • Features: They have an adjustable flash frequency, an LCD display, and often a Phase Shift function for observing the object at different angles of motion.
